We just recieved the latest Gift Shop Release “Mild Stallions - Pocket E.P.”. It will be available very soon for purchase so keep checking back. In the meantime, get your fill of Mild Stallions on their Myspace Page. The Packaging came out great and we couldn’t be happier. The Mild Stallions also recently played a show with Dameon Lee (of Scared of Chaka and Lowlights fame) at East End in Portland, OR. This marked the first Mild Stallions show with a full band featuring; Chris Worth and Brian Lelko switching out Key and Bass duities and Wiley Hickson on drums and of couse James and Amy doing their usual parts. The show went well and was a good time (had by all, hopefully).

The Daffodils are playing shows

The Daffodils (who don’t play out very often) are starting to ramp things up and have two shows coming up here in there near future. The First show is at Rotture in Portland Oregon with Lake (their k records signing party) and Ohioan on Wednesday, September 3rd. The next Daffodils show is on the 8th of September and will be held in Seattle WA at Rendezvous with Dameon Lee. Gift Shop will be re-releasing “Renee and Eugene” by The Daffodils as well as releasing thier upcoming records “Gulls and Buoys”. “Renee and Eugene” will be available for purchase at the live shows. Not many have heard of the GIS RV 1381, but it is quite an amazing machine, and it has it’s own Myspace.com page. A New Site - we are so close

We here at Gift Shop Records (the royal we I suppose) are very close to revealing a new website design. I think It will be pretty cool, because I believe that the internets is a cool place. I want to make it with easy access to the things that are important (bands, videos, etc.) as well as making it and easy place to navigate. Keeping up the website will be pretty easy thanks to the large community of Wordpress developers and the good people at Wordpress. We also plan on using Vimeo to host most of our video content (because they are dope), but youtube is not so bad itself. Thanks all.

“Summer Eyes” by The Daffodils

I recently posted a video of The Daffodils playing their song “Summer Eyes”. This song will eventually be released on Gift Shop Records but we are still deciding when and where it will be released. But for now, enjoy. Also, the new Daffodils Album “Gulls and Buoys” will be released sometime this spring or summer. Keep a lookout because it will be a “Must Have” for your music collection.

We here at GSR have been talking to the only know Reggae artist to sing about such subjects as Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons, Threes Company, and Cheez-its. His name is Mister Saturday and his songs are epic.

He has just completed an Interview with the Spanish music Blog Musica de los 80 y 90, which you can read Here. It’s a good read and delves into the strangely imaginative mind of this music mastermind. His first CD will be available for download very shortly, keep checking back and we will keep you posted. In the meantime, check out his video for “Get Your Own Box”.

We are working on getting more distribution here at Gift Shop Records and soon we will have more music available through Amazon.com and iTunes. We will keep you posted on this.
In other news… If you are in Portland there is a secret show tomorrow night (March 20th) at 8pm at The Know with “The Daffodils“. This is going to be great because the Daffodils are great and they don’t play very often. Gift Shop Records will be re-releasing The Daffodils’ first CD “Renee and Eugene” as well as the new Daffodils Album “Gulls and Buoys”. This is gonna be a good one.

Gift Shop Records is expanding to include the Gift Shop Skit Shop. It’s fairly simple, we have been making videos weather it be music based or just random awesomeness. These videos are hosted inthe following 3 places; Youtube.com, Vimeo.com, and Myspace.com. We are also working on beefing up our social-ness online with Myspace.com and Virb.com accounts. These will be pretty cool very soon. Here is an example of one our our skits…
