Gift Shop Records

We here at Gift Shop Records (the royal we I suppose) are very close to revealing a new website design.  I think It will be pretty cool, because I believe that the internets is a cool place.  I want to make it with easy access to the things that are important (bands, videos, etc.) as well as making it and easy place to navigate.  Keeping up the website will be pretty easy thanks to the large community of Wordpress developers and the good people at Wordpress.  We also plan on using Vimeo to host most of our video content (because they are dope), but youtube is not so bad itself.  Thanks all.

I recently posted a video of The Daffodils playing their song “Summer Eyes”. This song will eventually be released on Gift Shop Records but we are still deciding when and where it will be released. But for now, enjoy. Also, the new Daffodils Album “Gulls and Buoys” will be released sometime this spring or summer. Keep a lookout because it will be a “Must Have” for your music collection.

We here at GSR have been talking to the only know Reggae artist to sing about such subjects as Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons, Threes Company, and Cheez-its. His name is Mister Saturday and his songs are epic.

He has just completed an Interview with the Spanish music Blog Musica de los 80 y 90, which you can read Here. It’s a good read and delves into the strangely imaginative mind of this music mastermind. His first CD will be available for download very shortly, keep checking back and we will keep you posted. Gift Shop Records is expanding to include the Gift Shop Skit Shop. It’s fairly simple, we have been making videos weather it be music based or just random awesomeness. These videos are hosted inthe following 3 places; Youtube.com, Vimeo.com, and Myspace.com. We are also working on beefing up our social-ness online with Myspace.com and Virb.com accounts. I just put up a new video of Night Mechanic playing at Mississippi Studios in Portland Oregon. The song is called “White Rash”. Enjoy. And keep a look out for the new Full Length coming out soon.

The Plastic Rings EP by “The Caps” is now available at some local record stores in Portland Oregon. Soon it will be available for purchase here on giftshoprecords.com. As the site is being developed there will be more and more things available here. Also, we now have an account on youtube.com where we will be hosting videos for our bands. Our first video was filmed during the break at a band practice of The Caps and edited in 2 hours. More will be on the way, but for now, here is “Make A Wish” by The Caps.
