We just recieved the latest Gift Shop Release “Mild Stallions - Pocket E.P.”.  It will be available very soon for purchase so keep checking back.  In the meantime, get your fill of Mild Stallions on their Myspace Page. The Packaging came out great and we couldn’t be happier.  The Mild Stallions also recently played a show with Dameon Lee (of Scared of Chaka and Lowlights fame) at East End in Portland, OR.  This marked the first Mild Stallions show with a full band featuring; Chris Worth and Brian Lelko switching out Key and Bass duities and Wiley Hickson on drums and of couse James and Amy doing their usual parts.  The show went well and was a good time (had by all, hopefully).

We here at GSR have been talking to the only know Reggae artist to sing about such subjects as Star Trek, Dungeons and Dragons, Threes Company, and Cheez-its. His name is Mister Saturday and his songs are epic.

He has just completed an Interview with the Spanish music Blog Musica de los 80 y 90, which you can read Here. It’s a good read and delves into the strangely imaginative mind of this music mastermind. His first CD will be available for download very shortly, keep checking back and we will keep you posted. In other news… If you are in Portland there is a secret show tomorrow night (March 20th) at 8pm at The Know with “The Daffodils“. This is going to be great because the Daffodils are great and they don’t play very often. Gift Shop Records will be re-releasing The Daffodils’ first CD “Renee and Eugene” as well as the new Daffodils Album “Gulls and Buoys”. This is gonna be a good one.

We are very excited to announce the new release by “Victory and Good Hunting” on Gift Shop Records.  Eric Bandel is behind this great mix of old style/classical music that you don’t see enough of these days.  Great songs. This weekend we worked on printing out the CD Cases for the upcoming self-titled release by Victory and Good Hunting. Big thanks to Ben of Dejekt for letting us use his printing equipment. Most of the prints came out looking a lot like this:

We printed on materials from Stumptown Printers and they came out pretty nice.

It is now possible to buy CD’s online here at giftshoprecords.com. So you should go ahead and feel free to buy The Caps “Plastic Rings”. Also, Night Mechanic has been recording their debut CD at Jackpot Recording Studio here in Portland Oregon. Their CD should be available this winter and for purchase here at giftshoprecords.com.

More like Victory and Great Hunting.  Victory and Good Hunting will be releasing their/his first album on Gift Shop Records.  The music may be like some music you have heard before, but you haven’t heard it like this.  With mixes of piano ballads and catchy banjo, Victory and Good Hunting is perfect ambiance.  Eric Bandel of Brooklyn, NY is the brains behind this project, and the talent.  We are extremely excited to release this indie meets classical (much more classical than indie) recording.  Check out the myspace page at  http://www.myspace.com/victoryandgoodhunting.

The Caps are having a EP/CD Release show at the towne lounge in portland oregon.  Days and Soft Tags will both be playing as well, so this promises to be a good show.  The band also has some fun new pictures that should be available to look at very soon.

The Plastic Rings EP by “The Caps” is now available at some local record stores in Portland Oregon. Soon it will be available for purchase here on giftshoprecords.com. As the site is being developed there will be more and more things available here. Also, we now have an account on youtube.com where we will be hosting videos for our bands. Our first video was filmed during the break at a band practice of The Caps and edited in 2 hours. More will be on the way, but for now, here is “Make A Wish” by The Caps.
