What is Gift Shop Records?
Gift Shop Records is an Independent Record Label based out of Portland Oregon. We release music by bands and artists but we also do other things (see below). J. James Augustus (Pillbox) Hall founded the orginazition in 2007.
How is Gift Shop Records Different?
We don’t limit ourselves to only releasing music on either a CD or Vinyl format. We also offer some music (free of charge to anyone who wants to listen) in mp3 formats. Not all of the artists featured on Gift Shop Records have tangable releases, but they do enjoy creating music and sharing it (and owning the rights). We also dabble in stupid video making and generally having a good time.
What is Lelkoland?
Lelko is Brain Lelko’s (The Caps, The Kaleidoscoping Suns, Mild Stallions) Basement. We record there because it’s fun and cheep. Lelkoland is equiped with a 4 track recoding machine, compressors and mics, and other musical doodads.
